Saddle Options

Fender Attachments
: <click on the photo to see a larger image>

All Fender attachments are set and molded so the stirrups stay turned.

Inside Stirrup LeatherInside: Stirrup leathers wrap around inside against fender. This prevents stirrup leathers from hanging. This is the standard option.

Outside Stirrup LeatherOutside: Stirrup leather hangs on the outside. Some say this gives better flexibility to the stirrup but is most commonly used by people who are adjusting their stirrups for many different riders.

Texas Twist Texas Twist: This is a method of physically twisting the leather to turn the stirrup. It creates additional bulk down by the ankle and the stirrup leather hangs down on the outside . $50.00

Fender SmoothSmooth: A good choice for riding long hours without a chafing problem.

Fender RoughoutRoughout: Most commonly used when extreme maneuvers are being used with the job needing greater grip. However, roughout leather will smooth out over time and it will be necessary to sand the roughout with sandpaper.

Skirt: <click on the photo to see a larger image>

The function of the skirt is to help protect the horse from the stirrup leathers. The skirt does not bear weight.

Skirt RoundRound: This shape has the least amount of leather and makes the saddle a little easier to handle.

Skirt CurvedCurved: This has the same depth as the square skirt but the rounded corners give a different look.

Skirt SquareSquare: The largest of skirts; protects horse from large saddlebags.

Seat: <click on the photo to see a larger image>

Seat Full PaddedFull Padded - The first padded seat came into existance in order to hide an ungly seam on cheap saddles but today we just use it to give more cush to the tush! The entire area of the seat is padded; The male seat is a standard padding; the female seat has an extra 1/4" triangular seat foam in the front of the seat.

Seat 3/4 paddedThree-Quarter Padded - Three-quarters of the seat is padded, one-quarter has skirt leather. Still has cush for the tush, but gives the saddle a more "old time" look. $75.00

Seat Full LeatherFull Leather - Full Skirt Leather across entire seating area. This is the traditional method of the seat and when the seat is properly designed cush for the tush is not necesary. The skirt leather is used and there is no seat padding for the full leather seat. $150.00

Cantle: <click on the photo to see a larger image>
